AC Speed Controls
( A Huge Energy & Money Saver)
VFD or a Variable Frequency Drive ( Micro Drive, Inverter, Variable speed Drive, Adjustable Drive) are all names for a
apparatus that works with a AC Motor to control the speed and torque by varying input frequency and voltage.  One third
of the worlds energy is consumed by "Fixed Speed AC Motors". Using a VFD  in these applications would produce an
enormous energy and Cost Savings.
Control Performance is another benefit when using a VFD.  When using a Fixed speed AC Motor, the motors high
starting torque sends a current that surges up to eight times the full-load current.  The AC motor that is equipped with a
VFD allows the AC Motor to ramp up to its operating speed at a much smoother rate. This feature alone reduces
maintenance and repair costs. The overall life of the AC Motor will be extended as well your power transmission parts.

Our Micro Series line of
compact inverters offer “Big
drive” features for adapting
standard or premium efficient
three-phase motors to
adjustable speed operation.
They utilize the latest
technology in software and
power conversion circuitry.
They are easy to program and
read-out in plain English,
eliminating the frustration and
time involved in trying to
translate symbols.  Complete
rugged steel enclosures offer
protection that is not always
provided with plastic
enclosures.  Built-in thermal
overload protection reduces
additional costs.  Heavy duty
wiring terminals and
accessible conduit openings
reduce installation time.
General Specifications:
Our SM-Plus Series line of
compact inverters offers “BIG”
performance from an ultra-
compact design.  They
provide 18 isolated I/O
terminals plus RS485
Modbus® serial
communication.
Features include:
0-240 Hz – Output Frequency
Current limit to 180% with
frequency foldback
Seven-Preset speeds
Adjustable acceleration and
deceleration times
Adjustable carrier frequency
Speed reference calibration
Accel boost for high torque
acceleration

price, the SM2 Flux Vector
Series inverters excel in
applications where inverter
technology was once
considered too costly.
Applications would include
packaging machinery, food
processing, machinery,
material handling/conveying
systems and HVAC systems.
They carry four modes of
operation – V/Hz, Enhanced
V/Hz, Vector Speed and
Torque.

NEMA 4/12 (IP65/IP54) rugged
steel enclosures are offered in
either a Food-Safe Epoxy
Finish or in 300-Series
Stainless Steel. Some higher
HP inverters are only offered as
NEMA 12, having an external
cooling fan. Built-in thermal
overload protection reduces
additional costs. Heavy duty
wiring terminals and
accessible conduit openings
reduce installation time.
General Specifications:
The FHP Series are
volts/hertz-type AC inverters
are simple to set-up and
calibrate as and SCR-type DC
control. These cost-conscious
and compact designs
maintain the industry standard
for mounting hole location.
Features include:
