Rod Ends and Spherical Plain Bore
Rod ends are manufactured utilizing two construction styles. They are of the two or three-piece type. Both types feature the advantages of
metal-to metal contact between bearing components (PTFE to metal interface may also be incorporated when specified). The standard
two-piece style consists of a body and precision ground oil impregnated sintered steel ball. This type of construction allows the rod end
body to carry a greater radial static load and the oil-impregnated ball is self-lubricating under normal operating conditions. This unit also
offers greater misalignment capabilities. A variety of material and plating options for the component parts in this series are available. Any
conformable steel in stainless and alloy steel categories can be specified for the body, and all harden able alloys such as 52100 and 440 C
stainless steel may be employed as options for the ball component.

The ASM series is Aurora's
line of male rod ends
manufactured to SAE-AS
81935/1-03 through SAE-AS
81935/1-16, and are fully
approved for procurement
under those specifications.

In addition to the mil spec
approved rod end
configurations, non-standard
materials substitutions and
dimensional modifications are
possible, as are variations in
no load rotational torques to
meet specific customer
application requirements.
Journal bushings
manufactured to
SAE-AS81934/1 and fully
approved for procurement
under those specifications.
These journal bearings all
feature Aurora's proprietary AT
3200 liner system, fully
qualified to AS81820. Total
traceability is maintained
through manufacturing up to
and including shipping. Bore
sizes range from ¼" (-04)
through 2" (-32), and lengths
from .156" through 3.00". In
addition to mil spec approved
sleeve bearings , non-standard
material substitutions and
dimensional modifications are
possible to meet specific
customer application
requirements.
Journal bushings manufactured
to SAE-AS81934/2 and fully
approved for procurement
under those specifications.

The Aurora Bearing product
line features over twenty
different series of rod ends in
inch, or imperial, dimensions.
Products range in bore size
from 1/8 to 2 inch, with
threads from 6-32 through
2"-12. All feature one-piece,
full swage steel raceway
construction, with the
exception of the SPM/SPW
series, which feature a
proprietary low friction high
wear resistance molded liner.

Aurora PTFE liners are
available in most series.
